Classic Lash Extensions
The Classic eyelash extensions are a traditional form of eyelash extensions that can create a natural, mascara-like effect by adding extra length, definition, and curl. This technique involves attaching a single 1:1 extension to each natural lash, limiting the number of extensions to the number of natural lashes. Classic lashes work well for people with normal to abundant natural lashes that are thick and strong and desire a natural look. However, if you have sparse lashes and want to add more volume or density to your lash line, Classic lashes may not be the best option. Instead, you might want to consider Hybrid or Volume lashes.
Hybrid Lash Extensions
If you desire a fuller effect than Classic lashes but are not quite ready to try Volume lashes, Hybrid lashes are a great option. Hybrid lashes are a combination of Classic and Volume techniques, which offer the best of both worlds. They provide the definition of Classic lashes with the softness of Volume lashes.
This mixed technique is also ideal if you have a decent amount of natural lashes but have gaps or are recovering from a poorly applied set of lash extensions elsewhere. The volume fans in Hybrid lashes can cover minor gaps and create an even lash line.
Volume Lash Extensions
Volume lashes involve a specialized technique where multiple lashes are fanned out and applied to each natural lash using a ratio ranging from 2:1 (2D) to 10:1 (10D) for mega volume. A popular ratio is 3:1 or 4:1, which is also known as 3D or 4D lashes. These extensions are much finer and lighter than classic extensions, resulting in a denser, softer, and fluffier look. The volume of the lashes used increases with the ratio, and the thickness of the lashes used decreases to ensure that your natural lashes can support the weight of the extensions without damage.
